This morning, this one thing became so clear to me while I was reading a devotional. This first line stated... That being tempted was not wrong! I was amazed like... It hit me to my core! Being tempted is not wrong! Simple right???? Right! But it encouraged my heart and I want to share with you the revelation that the Lord was sharing with me this morning.
So, Being tempted is not wrong. What does that mean? We beat ourselves up about evil thoughts that comes up in our mind or the wicked images that presents itself in our mind; the enemy is attempting to tempt. Where we go wrong is when we give in to that temptation that intrigued us. It is safe to say that when we are tempted; the source is not God. Psalms 23:2 tells us that God leads us! This is a character trait of our Lord. The enemy, however, seeks the opportunity to tempt us, to convince us to fall. However, it is our responsibility to not fall, even in the midst of temptation, we must stand for the One whom we serve - God! James 4:7 says Submit yourselves to God; resist the enemy and he will flee from you! We must follow the courageous ways of Jesus in our moments of weakness and temptation. Matthew 4:1-11 - Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. 3 During that time the devil[a] came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]” 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, 6 and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’[c]” 7 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’[d]” 8 Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.” 10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’[e]” 11 Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus. Be encouraged! In your time of intrigued temptation, speak the word! When you resist the enemy, he WILL FLEE!!!! And the Lord, our Savior will send the angelic hosts to come, on your behalf, and restore you!!!! Don't be condemned or oppressed by ungodly and intriguing temptation. Walk in your authority and stand for the Lord in those times! Don't compromise; use the tools given in this blog & watch your strength grow as you lean on the Father. Look at Job, he refused to compromise even in the midst of terrible adversity, after while the Lord Restored HIM!!! Keep your head up and STAND!!!! Love you! *Raine |
