My Pastor spoke a GREAT Word on how we doubt God on yesterday! He sent us to Genesis 3. He spoke about how the enemy threw a seed of doubt in this passage and Eve caught that seed and she held on to that seed. When all was said and done, Adam and Eve went into hiding, when they heard the Lord. Take a moment to read it:
Genesis 3 New Living Translation (NLT) 1 The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord God had made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” The Seed of doubt was thrown Eve's way 2 “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. 3 “It’s only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, ‘You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die.’” 4 “You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. 5 “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” 6 The woman was convinced. Her moment of convincing allowed that seed of doubt to be planted within her. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. 7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. They felt ashamed of what they felt they didn't have. Ever feel like God am I able or capable to do this thing? So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. 8 When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man[a] and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. This hiding caused them to move out of position. They were not in their regular posture, that God was used to. All of this stemmed from a seed of doubt birthed through a question. 9 Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” How many of us have been thrown seeds of doubt, seeds of restrictions, seeds of low esteem, seeds of unforgiveness, seeds of lack, seeds of lies, and etc.? Now, holding on to that seed from the enemy has cause you to be out of position; missing in action. God begins his search for YOU!! 10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” Through this seed, doubt, disobedience, and FEAR made its way into their lives and the lives of others for generations to come... including NOW! Even then, the dominion they possessed was jeopardized. It takes courage and boldness to walk in dominion; you can't dominate with fear! 11 “Who told you that you were naked?” the Lord God asked. As Pastor preached this, Holy Spirit kept speaking and I was stuck in a moment. The word convicted me! Unfortunately, how many times have God asked us this exact same question when we are on our journey of destiny and purpose. When we embrace the seeds that the enemy throws at us, we begin to shut down and hide. This is evidence that you have gotten a hold to some bad seed. When we give way to a lie or a feeling of incompetency and defeat from the enemy, God asks us, just as he did Adam... Who Told You that you were incompetent? Who told you that you were not capable? Who told You that you weren't good enough? Who told you that you lacked the resources and the support? Who told you that I wasn't with you or that I didn't instruct you or guide you??? The only way we will know and understand this is if we KNOW the TRUTH of God's word! He called us to be strong and courageous and when we live in a way that is different from the word; we've embraced some bad seeds! Be careful regarding the seeds that are planted in your life. I encourage you to take a moment and reflect. What are some areas where you've hidden from an assignment or call of duty( purpose); and what questions have God asked you concerning the seeds??? *Be ReFreshed!* *P.S. Don't become overwhelmed by this moment of truth! Repent! Examine the seeds that are attempting to be planted in your life. If they contradict the Word of God, let it fall, DON"T CATCH IT! Those areas that God has asked you those similar questions, reexamine, Be ReFresh and refuel! Pick up where you left off and press towards the mark in Christ Jesus! Love you! *Thanks Pastor Royal of Life In Christ Family Worship Center - www.licfwc.org!!!!!* |
